Description
The aim of this unit is to enable participants to become confident in using ICT with adult numeracy learners. Part of the series "Using ICT with adult literacies learners".
Aims of the training are to enable participants to explore:
- Why and how to use ICT to support adults learning numeracy
- How to help learners find, read, interpret and use numerical information on the Internet
- How to help learners use spreadsheets to organise information and calculate costs, time and other units of measurement
- How to present numerical information graphically using numerical signs, symbols, matrices etc so easy to read and use by learners
- How to use ICT, including the Internet, creatively to develop a range of numeracy learning activities
- Useful websites and ICT based resources and how to use them for numeracy activities
- How to help learners to develop numerical understanding through the use of sound and photography
- How to help learners to engage with games to develop their critical thinking in numeracy
