These guidelines accompany the Scottish Qualifications Authority Professional Development Award: Introduction to Adult Literacies Learning (PDA: ITALL). The PDA is aimed at candidates who are following a training programme for adult literacies tutor assistants. It should be delivered in the context of a suitable training programme such as ITALL1 which aims to enable participants to contribute to
tutoring in adult literacies.
